At ISAN, we look forward to offering a climate that gathers together science and practice, mind and brain, neuroscience and social context, to spiral around critical human concerns and contribute to the relief of human suffering, disability and injustice.

Our Mission

At ISAN, we cherish the mutually respectful, rigorous exchange of ideas and information across disciplines to address recalcitrant medical, mental health and biosocial problems. Our Sandbox Gatherings and working groups include a mix of neuroscientists, medical anthropologists, microbiologists, physicians, political scientists, psychologists and economists collaborating on critical issues such as novel approaches to understanding and treating persisting Posttraumatic Stress Disorder or modeling the economic consequences of stigma.

We welcome problem sets from the private and public sectors.
